During a called meeting on Friday, commissioners passed a resolution to form the Whitfield County Urban Redevelopment Agency. Chuck Dobbins, a member of the Dalton-Whitfield Joint Development Agency, said the tax credits of up to $3,500 per job are “very favorable economic tools” to attract businesses.

The members of the agency will be the same as the members of the Joint Development Agency: Dan Combs, Bill Davies, Chuck Dobbins, Allen Hammontree, Tom Pendley, Frank Robertson and Alan Wells.
